It all started some time ago, when Tim got this grand idea that his kids needed another way to expend some energy. His wife figured it was just Tim wanting to be a kid again, so he bought them 3 KMX-50s. Then, he HAD to go and tell Dave how cool these little bikes were and how much fun his kids were having on them.
Well, not to be out-done by his pal - Dave approached his wife about getting some for his 2 kids (you might as well know that his 'approach' was physically on his hands and knees, or so says his wife) He was flooded with the typical responses from a female who has not been infected by the 'Male Knee-jerk Reaction' to anything that could involve pain, blood and scars. She actually said, "No, they are too young and will hurt themselves".
So, the game was on. Dave had to present all the safety features of these Meercat 50s and how after proper training the kids would be fine. He closed his presentation with, "But Tim's kids have them?!?" Either it was the constant pleading by Father, Son and Daughter - or she was really paying attention during the little safety spiel, because she actually said, "Yes".
So, now everyone has their 'toys' and the families are happy, but the neighbors want some too.
And the school friends...
And the cousins...
And the cousins' friends...
You see where this is going.
Next thing, Tim gets the big idea of starting a company to make sure that every family, neighbor and cousin's friend in the US has a new 'toy' of their own. It needs a cool name!! He pulls one from his hip pocket...
BAM! - Wicked Rocket is born.
We hire a cool company to build our site. We sign papers of all kinds to make sure we can get the coolest of the cool - and offer them at the lowest of the low prices. Our freight company is all set up to accept our orders and deliver these 'monster machines' to everyone's dock or doorstep.
We flipped the switch and watched for some orders. (Have you ever seen that TV commercial for UPS? The one that has the new online company on their first day. They watch as Order #1 comes in and cheer... which turns to horror as Order #10,000 comes in at the same time). Well it wasn't quite that extreme, but it's still cool to see people placing their orders and getting their deliveries.
We've had fun riding, thinking, signing, building, marketing, and growing this company into what it is now. We hope you have as much fun with your new 'toys' as we do!!!
Signed,
Tim & Dave
